That is a new web browser launched today by Google. The browser is called "Chrome", and it was first introduced in the 38-page web comic book, which explains many of the features of the browser and how it'll run.
That book was accidently published on Labor Day, appearently a little earlier than the company had planned. But it is now available on Google book search. More details came till late today when google held a press event at its Mountain View Headquaters.
With Chrome, Google is hoping to speed up Web Search, Web Advertising and Web Application. If only by forcing Microsoft to improve in another explorer through more intense competition, they've also focused on brower stability as well as improving the user experience with search and overall web browsing.
CNET Robert spent some time with the browser earlier today and says the interface is very different from other browsers, and that'll take a little to getting used to. and that it takes a little getting used to. Instead of the traditional Netscape, IE Style toolbar across the top, Chrome puts tabs across the top. Those tabs are detachable and can be dragged and dropped into the browser, or they can be rearranged at any time, which makes the whole delineation between tabs and windows, well, pretty much moved.
Chrome is based on the open-source project WebKit which is also the basis for Android - Google's mobile platform. So it seems logical that Google's planning to use Chrome in mobile platform as well. We've got everything you could possibly want to know about Chrome upon our site including Screen Shots, early reviews and analysis on what it means to Microsoft and Mozilla, not to mention used user. And we're pointing to all of that from our roundup.
